MIRAMAR<\/h6>\nThe One-eyed Cat\u00a0Club was inaugurated on\u00a0August\u00a031st, 1960, from a Felito Ayon’s project, a\u00a0character with a\u00a0lot of\u00a0charisma, entertainer and one of the founders of\u00a0La Bodeguita del Medio Bar in the early\u00a01950s. The restaurant is located on the upper floors to separate it from intimate and bolero “discharges”, and its walls were set with works by Cuban painters such as\u00a0Amelia Pel\u00e1ez,\u00a0Ra\u00fal Acosta Le\u00f3n,\u00a0Mariano Rodr\u00edguez,\u00a0Luis Mariano Pedro,\u00a0Alberto Falc\u00f3n,\u00a0Tom\u00e1s Marai\u00a0and\u00a0Ra\u00fal Tapia, while the\u00a0construction\u00a0design\u00a0was in charge of\u00a0Evelio Pi\u00f1a\u00a0and\u00a0Frank Olorticochea.\n\nAlmost all famous feeling voices have sung at El Gato Tuerto:\u00a0Elena Burke\u00a0,\u00a0Omara Portuondo\u00a0,\u00a0Moraima Secada\u00a0,\u00a0Lino Borges\u00a0,\u00a0C\u00e9sar Portillo de la Luz,\u00a0Jos\u00e9 Antonio M\u00e9ndez,\u00a0Frank Emilio,\u00a0Las Capellas,\u00a0Bobby Jim\u00e9nez,\u00a0Vilma Valle,\u00a0Ra\u00fal Acosta,\u00a0Doris de la Torre,\u00a0Frank Dom\u00ednguez, and others.\n\nIn the\u00a01970s\u00a0El Gato Tuerto was closed, reopening again in\u00a01980\u00a0until\u00a01985.\u00a0Three years later it was remodeled again, to host the\u00a0Guinness Record\u00a0for the\u00a0longest\u00a0Bolero\u00a0in the world, with uninterrupted 76-hour duration, in which 498 singers participated, who performed 2,175 songs, in those memorable days that lasted from 21 to\u00a025 June\u00a0of the\u00a02001. Among the most illustrious visitors to El Gato Tuerto are\u00a0Gabriel Garc\u00eda M\u00e1rquez,\u00a0Cheo Feliciano,\u00a0Miguel Barnet,\u00a0Pablo Armando Fern\u00e1ndez\u00a0and\u00a0Virgilio Pi\u00f1era, who was the author of a poem dedicated to the emblematic site.
