OLD HABANA<\/h6>\n<p>The\u00a0Gran Teatro de la Habana Alicia Alonso\u00a0or\u00a0Gran Teatro de La Habana (Havana Great Theater Alicia Alonso)\u00a0is a cultural complex made up of several theaters.\u00a0It is the headquarters of\u00a0the National Ballet of Cuba, the\u00a0National Lyric Theater\u00a0and the\u00a0Spanish Ballet of Cuba.<\/p>\n<p>The current building, inaugurated in 1915, is the work of the Belgian architect\u00a0Paul Beleu.\u00a0In this place was located the old\u00a0Tac\u00f3n theater, one of the most luxurious in\u00a0America.\u00a0The theater, rebuilt within the beautiful building, was for many years the largest and most luxurious in the country and great figures from the\u00a0opera,\u00a0ballet, and\u00a0zarzuela\u00a0paraded through its stage.<\/p>\n<p>This public space, located in Old Havana, in its beginnings, was named to honor Captain General\u00a0Miguel de Tac\u00f3n and Rosique,\u00a0Governor of Cuba\u00a0between the years\u00a01834\u00a0and\u00a01838.<\/p>\n<p>The Tac\u00f3n Theater was the work of the architect\u00a0Antonio Mayo, who conceived it with a predominant eclectic style.\u00a0With 90 boxes, more than 20 rows and the capacity to receive about two thousand spectators, it became the stage par excellence for the Creole aristocracy.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=&#8221;1_3&#8243;
