CALLE 23. HABANA VIEJA<\/h6>\n

El Gran Teatro de la Habana Alicia Alonso o Gran Teatro de La Habana (Gran Teatro de La Habana Alicia Alonso) es un complejo cultural integrado por varios teatros. Es sede del Ballet Nacional de Cuba, del Teatro L\u00edrico Nacional y del Ballet Espa\u00f1ol de Cuba.<\/p>\n

El edificio actual, inaugurado en 1915, es obra del arquitecto belga Paul Beleu. En este lugar estuvo ubicado el antiguo teatro Tac\u00f3n, uno de los m\u00e1s lujosos de Am\u00e9rica. El teatro, reconstruido dentro del bello edificio, fue durante muchos a\u00f1os el m\u00e1s grande y lujoso del pa\u00eds y por su escenario desfilaron grandes figuras de la \u00f3pera, el ballet y la zarzuela.<\/p>\n

Este espacio p\u00fablico, ubicado en La Habana Vieja, en sus inicios, fue nombrado en honor al Capit\u00e1n General Miguel de Tac\u00f3n y Rosique, Gobernador de Cuba entre los a\u00f1os 1834 y 1838.<\/p>\n

El Teatro Tac\u00f3n fue obra del arquitecto Antonio Mayo, quien lo concibi\u00f3 con un estilo predominantemente ecl\u00e9ctico. Con 90 palcos, m\u00e1s de 20 filas y capacidad para recibir cerca de dos mil espectadores, se convirti\u00f3 en el escenario por excelencia de la aristocracia criolla.<\/p>\n

En su tiempo, El Tac\u00f3n fue el teatro m\u00e1s grande y lujoso del continente americano; y por sus cualidades t\u00e9cnicas, el tercero del mundo, tras la Scala de Mil\u00e1n y la \u00d3pera de Viena.<\/p>\n
